The last few years have been years of pro found changes in the Faculty
of Science, King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi. Our
teaching, while based on a proud
tradition, is continually changing in response to the shifting needs of
students, industry, and business alike. |
| |
 |
The undergraduate programs have adopted a
project-based learning approach where students can work closely with
business and industry partners. This is known as an Industrial
Cooperative Learning Program. This program allows senior students to
spend 4 months in industry under the supervision of our staff. The
well-designed cooperative program will provide our students with
practical experience in modern technology and hands-on previews of their
professions-to-come. It, however, retains the unique 15 credits of
engineering minor courses. The faculty has expanded to offer more
undergraduate and graduate programs both at MS and PhD levels. |
| |
To strengthen our postgraduate degree
program, research works and staff development, we are planning to
cooperate with both local and worldwide institutions as our learning
networks. Collaborations with major research universities in the United
States, Germany, U.K., Australia, New Zealand, Japan and the Mekong
Subregion such as China and Vietnam have been established. Specialized
laboratories and centers, namely the Risk and Decision Analysis Lab (RADAL),
Ozone Research Lab, Laser Technology Lab, Food Evaluation and Analysis
Lab, and Software Development Center, have been founded to strengthen
our specialized research areas of food safety, nanotechnology,
biotechnology, and software technology. |
| |
|
 |
| |
These dynamic changes will result in a
higher quantity of students and higher quality of teaching, learning,
research and service. None of the achievements would have been
accomplished, however, without talent, commitment and consistent effort
over the long term by the staff and students. They can make all this
happen for the Faculty of Science, KMUTT, and disseminate knowledge
gained here to ultimately benefit community and country it serves. The
Faculty of Science embraces change and is very much looking forward to
the exciting years ahead. |
